The Urban Future Pavilion was one of the five central theme pavilions
making up the Shanghai Expo. Visited by 73 million people, the Expo enjoyed the participation of 246 countries and official bodies. This Pavilion – one the most well -regarded by both the public and critics of Expo 2010 – offered a trip through the history of the future
of cities. In this trip, the voyager witnessed the evolution of utopias, plans, and urban projects seeking to improve cities in each time
period, arriving to 2010, when more than half of all humanity call this urban habitat home. It offerd a profound reflection on the problems
and aspirations of several of today’s cities before coming to the grand finale, Harmony PLAZA – an impressive futurist stage offering scenes on how urban life may be when today’s children become adults.
